BioEnterprise

BioEnterprise is a business formation, recruitment and acceleration initiative designed to grow Northeast Ohio healthcare companies and commercialize bioscience technologies. BioEnterprise’s founders and partners include Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, Summa Health System and the BioInnovation Institute in Akron.

Based in Cleveland, BioEnterprise provides companies with experienced bioscience management guidance; privileged relationships with world-class research and clinical institutions; access to bioscience venture capital and private equity firms as well as knowledge of grant funding opportunities; business development and alliance support for strategic partnerships; and a network of regional business capabilities, including technical services, equipment, professional service providers and flexible development space.

BioEnterprise also features the H.I.T. Accelerator, designed to speed the growth of emerging healthcare IT companies in the Northeast Ohio region by providing access to targeted customers and support for continued product and company development. Companies participating in the H.I.T. Accelerator receive valuable feedback on and insights into their products and services from IT executives at leading regional healthcare institutions.

“Without them, we wouldn’t be here. I have a little bit of business experience through consulting, but it’s nothing like starting a product company.” —David Rohler, Plexar Imaging, a Shaker Heights, Ohio-based developer of an image quality (IQ)-based dose management system that removes the guesswork for CT technologists.
